We terriers believe in play time and you better stay out of our way!
The thrill of the chase is our game!
Don't stand in our way because we can't stop!
Betsy can out run everyone now and then.
The chase always ends in a Tuesday Tussle.
A girl has to catch her breath sometime too.
Whew! That was exhausting!

Rain! Rain! Rain!
What do you do with a house full of fur babies and it is raining outside? Saturday did not start out well with pushing and pulling everyone to the door to go outside and take care of morning business. Have you ever noticed when it is time to go out for a potty break the downpour is the heaviest? In less than 10 minutes we were all soaked through and through and I really needed a warm cup of coffee!
Miraculously in the afternoon the rain stopped for what we thought was going to be a few minutes. The sun peaked out from a dark cloud and we saw a little piece of blue sky.So we threw down a bale hay and the fun began!
Annabelle loved grabbing mouthfuls of hay and tossing it around.
Watch out Myshka!
The rest afternoon everyone laid in the hay enjoying the sun.
Myshka can tell time and quickly reminded us that it was time for dinner. She is very vocal about it too. We wanted a peaceful quiet evening so everyone was fed and quickly settled in for naps. Thanks to dad they were all tired after frolicking in the hay!

Fridays bring dreams of past adventures. We never know what mom has in store for us. We know it is going to be exciting when we hear dad ask "now"? Mom is spontaneous and dad is a planner but also a good sport. Dad starts gathering up the leads and whatever else is needed. Sometimes it is just a late night walk in the dark. Sometimes we are scared and mom wants to know if dad brought Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson. We have yet to meet them.
Many times we like to listen to the Hoot Owls or Barred Owls as they hunt. There are many of them that live in the trees around us. Mom especially likes to hear them chatter to their mate as they both come back to the same tree from their hunt. They mate for life and usually stay in the same area where they were hatched. Most nights we hear them as we drift off to sleep.
Nina and Annabelle are on patrol the late nights we sit on the porch because mom says you never know what will come out of the woods.
Hope you have a great weekend adventure!

Looking Back to September 2012
Paris came to our house on Friday, September 28, 2012. She was scared and nervous, and didn't know what was expected of her. I often wonder what goes on in the mind of a newly re-homed dog. What do they feel? Before Paris was welcomed by our girls she had time to get familiar with the outside surroundings. Squirrel smells around the trees really attracted her. She would sit and stare up into the tree for what seemed like an eternity.
After the meet and greet on a one to one basis and playing chase it appeared that everyone would get along. Paris followed Phoebe and Lily everywhere as if she knew that she was a terrier.
The following afternoon, Paris seemed to be comfortable on her own. She was so sweet and wanted to be in the same room with us.
Paris' favorite thing while indoors was to stare out of the window. She still loves to sit in a window as you never know who or what will come. We have learned to make sure all shutters and curtains are open or they will have to be replaced.
Usually its deer, many deer! There are no flowering plants or shrubs to attract them but yet they come. The strangest thing is that the deer know the dogs are at the door or in the window but they don't run. Somehow the deer sense they are safe. On rare occasions we see a fox and rabbits. Our nocturnal visitors are raccoons and opossums. We are told by the DNR that coyotes are here too but we have not seen them. Paris enjoys the entertainment. Punkin, her sister, came to live here last month and she just trembles with excitement. Actually, our girls look for the wildlife every day. The snakes and wild feral dogs are our main concerns.

What the Dogs Saw
We looked high and low for those leprechauns yesterday but never found a one.
We did find excitement and something wild outback Sunday morning.
Do you see what we saw?
Two deer came right up to our fence.
Myshka was twitching with excitement!
We could hardly control ourselves!
Maybe next time mom will let us chase those deer!

We are always amazed at the personality and character of each of our girls. Some are best friends with each individual in the pack, some just tolerate the others, a few are really laid back while others could not sit still even if their lives depended on it.
Betsy and Paris are always together and are truly BEST FRIENDS FOREVER. They bonded from the day Paris walked in our door. You never see one without the other. We have never seen this in any of the other girls. Paris and Betsy's concern, love, and protectiveness for each other is apparent in their interactions with the others.

Punkin came to live with us on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3, 2013. Her sister Paris came to us last September so when Punkin needed to be rehomed we were contacted once again. This was a big decision for us due to the fact that we had decided "no more". After much thought Punkin came to live with us too.
Just like Paris, Punkin was well trained, sociable, and a pure delight. It took no time at all for Punkin to fall into our routine. The great thing is that everyone gets along and they always make us laugh.
We know it was a good decision when our cat, China Girl approved!
