Saturday Evening

Mom feels guilty when she and dad run errands  and we have to stay home. She might feel very guilty today because she went to an antique show and sale. That's okay because we get to go on those fun evening walks through the woods.

It was light when we started the walk, however dark came upon us rather quickly.

Hang on Dad!
Our cat (lower right side of photo) will always walk the two miles with us.

Hey Mom are you back there?

On the way home dark catches up with us.

Finally home!

Patiently waiting for Dad to take the Sibes inside, unleash them and give them water before he helps mom get the rest of us inside.

With a little cold snap this weekend we were not too worried about those poisonous snakes.  Sadly to say this will probably be our last walk in the woods  until next winter after hunting season is over. Temperatures will get to warm this week and next month is turkey season.

I am sure mom will take us on extra adventures Sunday.

Ruff Wear

Our package arrived and we now have three more of the  Knot - a - Leash dog leads.

I like the Ruff Wear Knot-a- Leash because it is strong and rugged. The locking carabiner clip ensures the occasional escape will not happen. The traditional clip on most leashes will on occasion allow the collar ring to slip right through and we have an AWOL dog on the run. Nina has used one for almost 2 years and it has held up well and still looks great.

Another feature that I love is the thick handle that I can hold securely in my hand.  I stopped using the flat traditional leads when I almost had my ring finger detached from my hand after the flat cord wrapped around the finger when one of the girls decided to chase a deer.

The handle is padded and thick.  This will not wrap around my fingers.

Myshka wanted to be our model today so here here she is modeling one of our new leads.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

The Bone Collector

Betsy's past may contribute to her need to gather all the bones and keep them for herself.  I heard on NPR this morning that scientists may have a way to erase our past.  I would love to erase the painful parts of Betsy's life.

Another Tuesday Tussle

We are not allowed to run and chase through the house so when we are outside you better watch out!

Mom has learned to move quickly so she doesn't get knocked off of her feet.

After all this running and chasing we collapse on the floor in the house and sleep most of the afternoon.
Actually, mom times it just right so she can have a peaceful evening.

Lucy's Saturday Adventure

None of us slept in on Saturday morning because Lucy had a 10:00 AM appointment with Dr. Jackson. Everyone had to go for early walks, eat breakfast and walk again. Our vet is approximately a one hour and 15 minute drive away from home.

Here I am  - all happy and lively because I got to go on an outing!

Oh dear, I have gained a little weight - I weigh 4.6 lbs. (I was 3.5 lbs)

Waiting patiently  and enjoying the photo sessions.

Hey, I can't sit on this - it is cold!

Mom I am not sure I like this place. Mom what is about to happen here?

Hello Dr. Jackson! Dad - help!

Dr. Jackson is the best vet ever!! She takes good care of all of us.

Unfortunately, like most toy breeds I have  trouble with my teeth. Mom feeds me crunchy dry food but I get massive plaque and tartar on my teeth.  Since my cleaning from last spring I already have plaque caked on my back teeth. Dr. Jackson might have to remove more of my teeth.

Whew! Glad that part is over with but no one told me about the blood work.

Dr. Jackson gave me a good checkup.  I did not get my vaccines today, mom refused them and said that I am going to skip a year or two.  Mom believes that we over vaccinate and that I have a lot of antibodies built up because I have had all my vaccines on a regular basis for the first 6 years of my life. I still get my annual checkups and heartworm preventative. Next month is Sasha's turn for a checkup and for vaccinations.  Sasha does not have enough antibodies built up like me.

Look Into My Eyes

Look deep into my eyes mom and repeat after me, "I will not sleep in on Saturday morning".

Do you understand this mom?

Play Ball or Swim ?

Some of us live to play ball and will only stop when all the balls are hidden from view.

Hey, that's my ball!

Ball? We would rather play in the cold water!

Dad says we are part water spaniel!

Would you rather play ball or swim?

Be My Valentine

I often wonder if our cats consider themselves part of the pack and if they are happy living with all of these dogs.
India says "I love you, what more can I say!  I have to love them to live with this and remain happy".

We cats watch this all day long!

Wishing everyone a Valentine's Day filled with peace and love!

Random Friday Thoughts

I am taking it easy today and reflecting on past experiences with mom. I love dad too but I am definitely mom's shadow.

I like the time we took a basic nose work class together when I was just a young pup. I want mom to enroll us again because it really gave me a lot of confidence and I love to smell things. By the end of the 6 wks I was holding my tail high and prancing.

Before the little ones came into the family mom always had time to play tug of war with me. Sometimes I let mom win.

Weekends go by in a blink of an eye!

Enjoy your weekend!  We can't wait to read about your adventures!
