None of us slept in on Saturday morning because Lucy had a 10:00 AM appointment with Dr. Jackson. Everyone had to go for early walks, eat breakfast and walk again. Our vet is approximately a one hour and 15 minute drive away from home.
Here I am - all happy and lively because I got to go on an outing!
Oh dear, I have gained a little weight - I weigh 4.6 lbs. (I was 3.5 lbs)
Waiting patiently and enjoying the photo sessions.
Hey, I can't sit on this - it is cold!
Mom I am not sure I like this place. Mom what is about to happen here?
Hello Dr. Jackson! Dad - help!
Dr. Jackson is the best vet ever!! She takes good care of all of us.
Unfortunately, like most toy breeds I have trouble with my teeth. Mom feeds me crunchy dry food but I get massive plaque and tartar on my teeth. Since my cleaning from last spring I already have plaque caked on my back teeth. Dr. Jackson might have to remove more of my teeth.
Whew! Glad that part is over with but no one told me about the blood work.
Dr. Jackson gave me a good checkup. I did not get my vaccines today, mom refused them and said that I am going to skip a year or two. Mom believes that we over vaccinate and that I have a lot of antibodies built up because I have had all my vaccines on a regular basis for the first 6 years of my life. I still get my annual checkups and heartworm preventative. Next month is Sasha's turn for a checkup and for vaccinations. Sasha does not have enough antibodies built up like me.
Wow! an hour and 15 minutes. Thats one plus to city living our vet is 3 blocks from our house, we can walk there if we want. We skip years with vacines too though Norbert got his today, it had been 3 years
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see we are not the only ones that drive a considerable distance to the vet and get our parents to take off work and stay home with us when we have surgeries. It's also amazing how other people just don't understand and think why are you doing that it's just a dog. Nope they are family.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are doing well and that tiny pink bandage is so cute. Sorry you had to poked with the ouchie needle. Hope your teeth are ok and they won't have to take any out.
Best Wishes,
Emma
Such a big bandage for such a little leg! I bet you're glad that visits over with! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are a teeny little pup, aren't you, Lucy? We are glad your visit went well, and we like your pretty pink bracelet:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
My Mum agrees about the vaccinations. She prefers to skip sometimes, but our vet can get grumpy...
ReplyDeleteThat's a long drive to the vet! Hope you don't lose any teeth. I agree with you about over-vaccinating. I had a dog develop an auto-immune disease which I always blamed on vaccinations.
ReplyDeleteShe must be a special vet fur woo to all drive that far! But special vets are worth it!
ReplyDeleteWoo must be the smallest doggie we know! glad all went well, except fur the teefies. Moo had to have a big one out last year. (The up -side are the after-treats!)
