Happy Birthday Mugsy!
Wednesday, April the 18th, our Mugsy turned 18. I look at her with with awe most days as she goes about life as usual. She has good days and never complains about the bad days. I can look at her and tell if she is having a good day. I guess there is something to be said about "good stock". Mugsy sleeps on a heating pad most of the day until she decides it is time to go outside or ask for a snack. She greets me most mornings by dropping a tennis ball at my feet. I will roll it along the floor for her to fetch and she brings it back to me. One time is enough for her these days. I often recall there was a time that my arm would give out throwing the ball for her for what seemed an eternity. Most of Mugsy's life she ate what I cooked for my family supplemented by some dry kibble. She was also not exposed to all the different vaccines that most animal medical facilities want us to give our pets on an annual basis. I read about unnecessarily taxing the immune system with the many vaccines and decide against them. Granted many pets have been saved by these vaccines, however, many have also had severe reactions, tumors, and orthopedic problems.
When my little niece and I brought this little pup home in a baseball cap 18 years ago I had no idea how much love, joy, laughter and fun she would bring to our lives. Mugsy and I have been through some major life changes together and she will always be my special Mugsy.
I love you Mugsy!
