Happy Birthday Myshka!!

Yesterday was my 2nd birthday.  Mom made me wear the "Birthday Hat".  Dad said I would not wear it, however I knew mom would reward me.  So Happy Birthday to me.

Hey Mom, I am starving.  I don't think I can hold this pose a minute more.

OMG! OMG! This is to die for, juicy tender bites of steak, venison steak!  By the way, Mom taught me OMG over the weekend.  That was all she kept saying over and over Saturday morning.  Look below for that story.

Hmm, this is the best birthday treat ever.

Birthdays are great, even if you do have to wear a hat.

OMG and OOOH NOOO!

Mom taught us OMG and OOOH NOOO last Saturday morning. She kept repeating them so naturally we thought it was a training session.  The lesson started when we all piled into mom's car to go to our vet appointment.  Dad was driving and he always uses the mirrors to back down the drive.  Well something happened to those mirrors and they did not work because he backed mom's car into his.  That is when our lesson started for new words, particularly OMG and OOOH NOOO.  Now we know when Mom says those words she is probably upset.

This is what the passenger side of mom's car is supposed to look like under ordinary conditions.

This is what is looks like after dad's mirrors failed.

So dad, where is the black fender that fits over the tire?

I don't think this part of dad's front bumper is supposed to curl.

Dad, I think you are going to have to replace this.

We think OMG and OOOH NOOO means dad might need a doghouse.

Saturday night the washing machine died so after another round of OMG and OOOH NOOO we assumed dad must have had an accident in the laundry room.  Sunday dad made it better by buying mom another machine and promising to get the jeep repaired this week.

We helped dad load the old washing machine on the trailer to carry to the recycling center while mom had some much needed quiet time.

Mom says next weekend will be better. We are looking forward to another vocabulary lesson.

Life With Dogs

Once upon a time this was a "cat" only house.  Lucy came one March many years ago.  I decided that was okay because she went to work with Mom every day and was smaller than me.  As a matter of fact, I would stalk her like prey.  Then came everyone else and my world as I knew it would never, ever be the same.  Dogs, particularly Siberians, are always interested in what the cat is doing, where the cat is going, and where the cat is sleeping.

Mom is constantly telling the furry girls to "leave it."  Leave it!  Leave it!  I love those 2 words.  Yes, life with all the dogs is exhausting.

Living with dogs makes one very sleepy.

Wake me up for dinner.

Sharing

This is my friend, Boots. We have been taught to share as we play with our friends.

We practice and practice this thing called sharing.

Play sessions always end with delicious treats.

Friends are a necessary ingredient in the recipe of life.

Trees and Tree Spirits

Our mom is always taking pictures of trees.  She taught us that trees are important to the earth and our well being. We also learned many cultures believed  wandering entities inhabited trees until they were ready to move on and other cultures believed  all trees had their own spirits.  Mom says all trees are alive and we are to respect them as with all nature.  We think mom is a tree hugger.

Dad wanted a picture of the tree with us and promised we would not make any spirits angry.

Myshka looked for those spirits but could not find them.

Mom, Nina, and I did not want our picture taken with the tree.  Hey, I didn't choose this family, they chose me.  :o

Dad and Myshka

On certain weekends, Dad takes me and only me to the park. We walk the paths and enjoy nature.

There is so much for me to smell.

Dad gives mom and me a history lesson.  I could probably repeat it because we get the same lesson every time we visit this park.

Dad says I am special and that is why he and I have special park days.  I love you dad!

We Found THEM!!

The temperature has dropped to the high 60's to low 70's today. Needless to say, our walk down the drive was delightful.

Wow, smell this and just look at all the foot prints.

We found them - deer!!!

Startled deer run fast and dad would not let us chase after them.

Uh Dad, where did you get this?  It smells fresh to me.

Actually it smells like our venison snacks. Does mom know about this?

Dad, where did you say you went this afternoon?  What is that smell?

I think Dad went hunting without us.  Mom is not going to be happy.

The "ENFORCER"

We have rules at our house that all must follow or so it is written. One important house rule is "No dogs on the furniture."  The 2nd is one must not run out of the door to the yard without permission.

When mom or dad leaves the room, all is fair game right?  Not according the 4 lb "ENFORCER", aka couch police !  She stands guard and rats us out every time!

I thought rules were made to be broken.  What is a poor dog to do?

Where Are They?

We looked high

Day Tripping

Walking trips always bring us much joy and we particularly like one 643 acre park that offers miles of paved trails.  Even though we get there early, it is hot and humid before we leave.

Forget the creek water dad, quickly pour our drinking water!

Hurry dad, hurry!  We are dying here!

No room for Betsy. :(

Patience has great rewards. Betsy gets the whole container.

Now what is Nina doing? Look!

Even strangers are looking!

Nina, now is not the time for yoga.  Look at her showing off the Downward Dog pose.

The ride home is so quiet, except for the occasional snoring.

PS. Mom and Dad had a very quiet evening.
